This privacy policy explains how Think Apps AI Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our Outlived mobile application (the "App"). In short: your birthday, and everything else you enter, stays on your phone. We have no accounts and no servers that hold your data, and we never see your date of birth. It also covers our website, outlived.fun, where the only thing we keep is your email address if you join the waiting list (see section 14).

We do not collect any personal information through the App. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing you enter is sent to us.
To work, the App stores the following on your device only:
The database of famous people is built into the App, so looking through it, searching it and working out your results all happens on your device.
With Outlived+ you can add other people's names and birthdays. These stay on your device and are never sent to us or shared with anyone. You don't need to enter real names: a nickname works just as well. Please only add people who would be happy for you to do so.
When you open a famous person's profile, the App asks Wikipedia for that person's summary and photo, and "Read on Wikipedia" opens their article. To do this, the App sends the name of the Wikipedia article to the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia. Your date of birth and anything else about you are never included.
As with any website, Wikimedia receives your device's network (IP) address in order to send the page back. See the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.
If you allow notifications, the App schedules them on your device: for example, on the day you overtake someone, a Sunday summary of the week ahead, your birthday report and milestones. They are created on your phone from the information it already holds. We do not use a push notification service, and we cannot send you messages ourselves.
You can change or turn off notifications in the App's Settings, or in your device's own settings (on iPhone, Settings › Notifications › Outlived; on Android, Settings › Notifications › App notifications › Outlived).
The widget is available on iPhone and iPad. If you add it, the App passes it the name of the next person you will overtake, the countdown and your outlived count. This uses a private storage area on your device shared only between the App and its widget. It never leaves your phone.
Share cards (for example, "I've officially outlived…") are created as images on your device. They are only shared when you choose to share them. Once you share a card, how it is handled is up to you and the app or person you shared it with.
Outlived+ is a one-off in-app purchase processed by Apple (on iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (on Android). We never receive your name, email address or payment details.
To check whether Outlived+ has been bought and to restore it on a new device, the App uses RevenueCat, our purchase service provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created by the App and the details of the purchase from Apple or Google. It does not receive your birthday or anything else you enter. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Your information is protected by your device's built-in security. You can clear everything at any time with Settings › Reset app, and deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
The App is intended for adults aged 18 and over, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and deletion. Because the App keeps your information only on your device, we do not hold any personal data about you, unless you join the outlived.fun waiting list (see section 14). If you have any questions, please contact us using the details below.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. Changes will be shown by the "Last Updated" date at the top.
Your use of the Apple App Store or Google Play is subject to Apple's or Google's own privacy policy and terms of service.
Birthday calculator. If you enter your date of birth on outlived.fun, the sums are done in your web browser. Your birthday is remembered in that browser (its local storage) so you don't have to type it again, and it is never sent to us. You can clear it by clearing your browser's data for outlived.fun. The website uses no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
Waiting list. If you join the waiting list, we keep:
We use these only to email you when Outlived is available for the phone you chose. We rely on your consent, given when you sign up. We don't share, sell or rent your address, and we don't use it for anything else.
The list is stored in a database run by Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts outlived.fun on our behalf under its data processing terms. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, with safeguards approved under UK law. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We delete your address once we've told you the app is out for the phone you chose, and in any case no later than 12 months after you joined. To be removed sooner, or to ask what we hold, email support@thinkappsai.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Please read these terms of use ("Terms") carefully before using the Outlived mobile application (the "App") operated by Think Apps AI Ltd.
By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App compares the length of your life so far with the lives of famous people who have died. It shows who you have outlived, who is next, and related facts, quizzes and milestones.
You must be 18 or over to use the App. It deals with death and uses dark humour throughout.
The App is a light-hearted look at life and is for entertainment and general interest only. It does not predict how long you, or anyone else, will live, and it is not medical, health, actuarial or financial advice.
Information about famous people, including dates of birth and death, descriptions and categories, comes from Wikidata and Wikipedia. It may sometimes be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Where only the years are known, dates are approximate. Recent deaths may take some time to appear, because the database is updated when we release new versions of the App.
If you spot a mistake, please let us know using the contact details below.
Profile summaries and photos are provided live by Wikipedia and are available under their own licences, such as CC BY-SA 4.0. We do not control that content. The App is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Data about famous people comes from Wikidata, which is available under the CC0 public domain dedication.
The App's humour is aimed at the survivor, never at the people who have died. People who died by suicide, overdose, violence or similar causes are presented plainly, and you can hide them in Settings. This relies on information in Wikidata, which may not cover every case. Anyone who has died in the past year is left out of notifications and share cards.
The people shown in the App have not endorsed it and are not associated with it.
The App is free to download. Outlived+ is an optional one-off purchase that unlocks friends and family features. It is processed by Apple and subject to Apple's terms, and refunds are handled by Apple. You can restore your purchase on another device signed in with the same Apple ID.
You are responsible for any names and birthdays you add, and for how you use and share anything the App shows about them. Please be kind: not everyone finds jokes about death funny, especially after a loss.
You are responsible for any share cards you post. Please don't use them to mock anyone, or in a way that could upset people who knew the person featured.
The App itself (its text, designs, code, styles and icons) is the property of Think Apps AI Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce or reverse-engineer the App. You are welcome to share the cards the App makes for you.
You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose and not to interfere with its functionality or security.
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy (see above). Your information is stored only on your device.
We may update or change the App at any time. We do not guarantee that the App, or the Wikipedia content it shows, will always be available or free from errors.
The App is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the laws of England and Wales.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party websites or services linked from the App or this page, including Wikipedia.
We may restrict your access to the App for any reason, including a breach of these Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in full force.
If you continue to use the App after these Terms change, you accept the revised Terms.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or these Terms of Use, or to report a mistake in the App's information, please contact us at:
